In a crippling blow to the valiant Space Fleet captain, Dan Dare’s brainy, green nemesis, the Mekon, has landed an impressive victory on Empire Online’s “50 Greatest Comic Book Characters”. Coming in at #39, the Mekon is lauded for his “nifty weapons” and “emotion-free genius” — the kind of praise normally reserved for the likes of Oppenheimer and Bohr. We can only imagine how vexing it must be for the unsung Dare not only to be envious, but to turn green because of it.
